how long the sign would remain.


It didn't take long to start packing after it was announced that Acciona Energia has given up on its half of the massive Cape Vincent industrial wind project that even one town board member and a former planning board chair have said publicly, and on more that one occasion, "This may have split the community forever".

Yesterday the town of Cape Vincent held a huge yard sale and a guy from Texas scored a great deal. 



He bought a big box of junk for a little bit of nothing.



He picked though the big box of junk, throwing most of it away, and, holy crap! He found the deed to a power line going right through the town of Lyme, NY.



As with all yard sales, both the seller and the buyer were very pleased. Peter Gross of British Petroleum says that since they are going to use huge turbines they will be able to accomplish the same thing with their project by putting up 80 turbines instead of the Acciona-Bp combined projects of 140 turbines.

According to Chairman Clif Schneider, The Town of Cape Vincent Comprehensive Review Committee had its first meeting yesterday and decided to put the effort on a quicker track in order to better link with the effort of the Zoning Law Committee.

Last night's Town of Cape Vincent Planning Board meeting was a breath of fresh air.



It was the very first town meeting in many years that was not wrought with tension,  neither at the front table amongst the officials serving our community nor amongst the citizens who were attending.

I just read a report that said a bald eagle with a bullet hole was found on the ice on the Oswegatchie River.



The New York State DEC is pissed and wants you to rat out the perpetrator. They have even called in CSI to do ballistics to determine the weapon.
